An Electricity contract does not end automatically

An electricity contract will not end automatically, as you may have multiple contracts in place at the same time. For example, you might need electricity at two locations if you’re renovating a new home while still living in your old one.

Your new contract may start earlier, and you can cancel your old electricity contract according to your needs, even on the same business day. You can pre-cancel a contract up to 90 days in advance.

No need to cancel the contract when switching electricity vendors

If you are changing your electricity supplier at your current address, you don’t need to cancel the old contract yourself. The new electricity supplier will handle the cancellation on your behalf. The notice period in this case is two weeks.
