Exchange a paper invoice for an electronic payment method

We recommend an electronic invoice to all our customers. There are several electronic payment methods to choose from.

We deliver e-invoices, email invoices and deliver your bills via Kivra and OmaPosti services. An e-invoice arrives in your online banking system, while Kivra and OmaPosti act as electronic mailboxes, where you also easily pay the invoice. You can also choose to receive your bill by email.

If an electronic invoice is not suitable for you, we can send a paper bill, or you can make an agreement with your bank for direct payment.

With direct payment, the bill will be paid without online banking. If you choose direct payment, we will send the invoicing information well in advance of the due date, while sending the same information directly to your bank. With a direct payment agreement, you authorize your bank to pay the bill on your behalf. The bank will then pay the invoice from your account automatically on the due date.

Energy advice for consumers

Do you need help on how to reduce your consumption and save money? We have collected some articles on the topic on our website, and consumer energy advice is available throughout Finland by region. Read more about the energy advice available on Motiva’s website and find your regional energy advisor.

Follow you consumption

You can follow your own consumption conveniently with the Vaasan Sähkö app. If you want to access data in Excel, for example, we recommend logging in to our online service. The online service is currently available in Finnish and Swedish. You can also download your consumption data from the national Datahub service.

Compare your consumption with similar objects

The national Datahub service will soon provide a possibility to compare your own consumption data with the consumption of similar objects. In addition, you can read on our website about typical electricity consumption of different types of housing and how you can affect your consumption.

Comparison of electricity contracts

There are different types of electricity contracts on the market, and it is important that you find a suitable contract type. It might be a good idea to compare prices for different contracts, for example, when you move to a new home or when a fixed-term contract ends. In such cases, you could visit the websites of electricity suppliers or compare the available contracts in online services focusing on electricity comparison, such as the impartial website maintained by the Energy Authority sahkonhinta.fi.

A service point for consumers in case of disagreements

We always try to resolve any disputes by discussing issues directly with the customer. If a situation arises regarding the contract, and we cannot reach an agreement, you as a consumer can take the matter to The Disputes Board to be resolved.

Before doing so, however, you should contact the Consumer Advisory Service. The Consumer Advisory Service is a service point for consumer rights, current legislation and what to do if you are unable to resolve disagreements with your energy company.

Service point for non-consumer customers

For customers who are not consumer customers, the Energy Authority acts as a service point. However, the Energy Authority’s task is not to mediate in disputes, but provides general advice. In disputes between energy companies and non-consumer customers, the Energy Market Disputes Board assists if the parties to the contract do not succeed in resolving the dispute between themselves, which is of course always the goal.
